More interesting if taken together, but each session stands alone, so it is also fine to attend one and not the other. Led by sabbatical minister Rev. Mary McKinnon Ganz, who will bring selections of text to consider.

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE BHAGAVAD-GITA.  Emerson, Thoreau and Einstein all studied it, and Mahatma Gandhi read it every day. What is it about this battlefield story that it was daily nourishment for Gandhi’s peacemaking work? (Aug 21)

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS.  Why were these “sayings of Jesus” hidden away in a cave in Egypt for hundreds of years? Is it possible the world just wasn’t ready for them? (Aug 28)

Rev. Ganz is a Unitarian Universalist minister who has served congregations in Arlington, VA, and Brewster, MA. In addition to being sabbatical minister at UUCPA, she serves part-time at the Faithful Fools Street Ministry in San Francisco.
