Julia Angwin & Ami Fields-Meyer – On Courage
Shared with UUCPA by member Linda Henigin:
I’m sharing an invitation to a late-breaking event with your fabulous congregation — Julia Angwin and Ami Fields-Meyer, the co-authors of the NY Times bestseller, On Courage: How to be a Dissident in an Age of Fear, are coming to Palo Alto on July 29.
This is so exciting; Julia and Ami are doing a lot of national media appearances (like Rachel Maddow and Heather Cox Richardson). And now we get to hear from them in our own backyard!
The Forum is on Wednesday, July 29, from noon to 1:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Palo Alto. It’s a brown bag lunch — we’ll provide some beverages and light snacks.

Here is a (long) video clip of Julia and Ami on Rachel Maddow

And here’s their opinion piece in the New York Times “The State of American Resistance Is Stronger Than You May Think” from a month or so ago.
As we all work together to buoy and grow our community of people taking action, their insights and wisdom from interviews with activists around the world provide hope and encouragement that I think will resonate with folks from UUCPA.
