Please join us for the next installment of our speakers series. jon a powell is Professor of Law, African American Studies and Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley and the Director of the Othering and Belonging Institute. The Institute’s focus is on addressing the exclusion, marginalization and structural inequality of groups – what they call othering – by creating an environment of fairness, justice and care for the earth – what they call belonging. john will speak about their approach and how best to bridge this divide, after which he will be interviewed by Margalynne Armstrong, Associate Professor of Law at Santa Clara University.
john has authored several books, including The Power of Bridging: How to Build a World Where we all Belong , which will be available for sale at the event.
