Dear UUCPA Members and Friends,
The following comes from Carly Brown, on behalf of the entire family of her father Byron and his beloved wife Kay:
“Byron Brown and Kay Brown passed away at home on Thursday, Dec. 11th, surrounded by their five children. After a recent decline in health and a hospitalization for each of them, they both chose a death with dignity. In their last days, they expressed gratitude for their full lives, which included the community they found in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto. A memorial service for both of them is being planned for January.”
The exact memorial date will be announced as soon as it’s set. And to relieve any potential wonderings, I’ll add that with very few exceptions it was Kay and Byron’s wish that their plans not be shared with UUCPA community members beforehand.
While that wish was honored and they indeed passed with dignity as desired, Rev. Cat and I join many of you in mourning their loss as beautiful people and treasured church members, and send our heartfelt condolences to their family and other friends.
In care and sympathy,
Rev. Peter
