Dioecious Coyote Bushes in Creekside Garden

Peek behind the cars parked along the entrance drive to see the male and female Coyote Bush (Baccharis pilularis) which have bloomed and are going to seed.  The male plants had yellow flowers now turning brown.  The female plants are covered with little white “tails” that turn fluffy to disperse their seeds in the wind.  The nurseries don’t carry female Baccharis because some people don’t like the white fluff.  These were propagated from cuttings taken in Arastradero Park.
