Volunteers & Riders Needed for LifeMoves Ride to End Homelessness – Sept 14

LifeMoves is holding its 10th Annual Ride to End Homeless place on Saturday, September 14, at Stanford Research Park, and is seeking volunteers to help with the event.  They are asking volunteers to commit to one (or more) of the following shifts:

  1. 6:30 – 9:30 am
  2. 9 – Noon
  3. 10:30 am – 1:30 pm

If you’re available, consider volunteering at the event. We have a variety of roles that need your help, from assisting with registration to managing activities in the Kid Zone. Your time and effort will ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Lynnelle will email everyone one week before the event with more details, job descriptions, and parking information.

Note that it is possible to both ride & volunteer.   You can volunteer for shift 1 or shift 2 if you are planning to participate in the 2 shorter family-friendly rides.   You can register to ride as a participant directly on the Ride to End Homelessness website.

Our Christmas Eve Justice Partner, LifeMoves, is requesting participation in this year’s Ride to End Homelessness, which will raise funds for housing and supportive services that benefit our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

The ride will be on Saturday, September 14, 2024, starting at the Stanford Research Park in Palo Alto.  You can register as a team or individually.

This event is for everyone. You can challenge yourself or pedal at your own pace. Choose from 4 ride options to suit your style:

  • Metric Century Ride  – 68.6 miles with a 6,467 ft elevation gain. This a rigorous yet fulfilling adventure, offering stunning natural views, numerous rest stops, and two major ascents.
  • Long Ride – 33.0 miles with a 2,122 ft elevation gain. This is a challenging endeavor with a significant climb, ending with a scenic descent back to the starting point.
  • Medium Ride – 29.2 miles with a 1,735 ft elevation gain. A moderate ride with a stop at the beautiful Pulgas Water Temple.
  • Family Ride – 6.4 miles with a 405 ft gain. A delightful cruise on low-traffic streets and bike paths, following a figure-eight route that offers the option of a shorter ride if the kids (or adults) become tired.

Whether you’re riding 6 miles or 66, you are supporting our unhoused neighbors.  All participants receive a T-shirt and lunch!
