Advanced Purified Water to Combat the Drought
Learn About Advanced Purified Water to Combat the Drought on September 21
Join fellow members of UUCPA and other local congregations to take a free virtual tour of the Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center and learn about the innovative treatment processes and the role of recycled and purified water as a future sustainable water supply.
The award-winning facility uses advanced technologies to purify secondary treated wastewater and provides clean, high-quality water through processes like microfiltration, reverse osmosis and ultraviolet light disinfection. The result is 8 million gallons a day of highly purified water that is demonstrated to be safe for drinking, though at this time it is used for recycled water purposes. A second similar facility is being planned utilizing the same technology to increase our drinking water supply and combat the drought.
The tour will take place Wednesday, September 21 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm via Zoom. The session will include Q&A.
