The Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto is proud to cosponsor the campaign kickoff to pass SB 42, the California Fair Elections Act, to bring more justice and equity into electoral politics.

Billionaires spent over $2.6 billion in 2024 campaigns, drowning out the voices of voters. Public financing of campaigns is needed to empower voters and allow qualified candidates to compete.

Join us for the Bay Area Campaign Kickoff for SB 42 to place the California Fair Elections Act on the November 2026 ballot to allow public financing of campaigns anywhere in California so elections are won, not bought!

REGISTER to attend the SB 42 Campaign Kickoff for SB 42 in Berkeley on Sunday, May 18th, from 3:30pm-5pm (Doors open 3pm)!

Rides are available from several Peninsula and South Bay locations.  Please forward this invitation widely!

Whether or not you can make it, Please sign the petition for SB 42!

SB 42, California Fair Elections Act (Umberg-Allen-Lee), will provide voters the opportunity to decide on a measure on the November 2026 ballot to remove the current prohibition of public financing of campaigns in California while establishing basic requirements that public financing systems and candidates using public funding must follow to protect taxpayers and maximize the benefit to voters.
