Healing the Divide Meeting
Healing the Divide is a UUCPA group which formed after the 2016 elections to ask 1) what do we not understand about others with more conservative viewpoints and 2) what can we learn that will help us communicate even across wide differences in belief.
On May 6, Edie Keating will organize a conversation on rent control. She will provide everyone with a brief summary of California Rent Control / Rent Stabilization regulations in advance of the meeting, and also a few statistics about the California housing market, and about who can afford to buy, and even the question of who can afford to rent…
For most of our meeting, either Edie or a neutral party will be gently asking some rent control opponents or doubters questions about not just the issue, but about their vision of how to organize our society between collective and individual responsibility.
