We’ll explore Fremont Older Preserve in the hills south of Cupertino. We’ll start from Stevens Creek County Park and hike up onto a ridge with views of the South Bay. Then we’ll descend into a shady canyon for a couple of miles and hike back up onto the ridge.
The total hike is six miles. We’ll climb 600 feet from the parking lot, descend 400 feet and climb 400 feet back up again. Probably a few more ups and downs of 200 feet or so and then a descent of 600 feet back to the parking lot.
As usual, we’ll meet at the UUFRC (2124 Brewster at Lowell in Redwood City) at 9am. Try to arrive a few minutes early so we can form carpools. We’ll park in the Cooley Picnic Area in Stevens Creek County Park. The drive to the parking lot should take about 40 minutes. I expect that we’ll return to the Fellowship by 2pm.
Bring lunch and water. Dogs are permitted on leash. Parking costs $6.00 per vehicle.
