In this society that emphasizes the “individual”, it’s easy to think of our self only.

The truth is… our sense of security and happiness is hinged on the actions of ours… and many other people.  We need other people to behave: family members to act caring, friends to act friendly, all encountered people to act decent, and fellow countrymen to act lawful… the list is very long.

At this time when societies are rapidly changing, there is another grave need… whether our world is serving the need of the collective, or the other way around.   We need voices pointing out the world’s problems, especially the emerging ones, and to inspire others to think and to fix them.

The voice could be yours. … When you read the newspaper, don’t you have speculation of the problems of the world?  When you deal with the world, don’t you see the same problem happening over and over again?   How about this important and enlightening book you recently read?

So, this topic-selection meeting is your chance… to voice your concern of the world.  Your voice will serve you.   You will learn…about your topic, about effective presentation. You will be rewarded… with a sense of meaning and recognition from other people.

This meeting features social time, a potluck, 20-minute presentation and all-peer discussion. We usually have more than 15 attendees.
