Prop 4 Speaker and Volunteer Training
You are invited to a Speaker and Volunteer training for Proposition 4, the California Fair Elections Act: Saturday July 18 from 2-5 PM, in Room 4/5. The training will be led by Trent Lange, President of California Clean Money Campaign and of the Prop 4 ballot measure committee, Californians for Fair Elections.
You can leave early if needed but I recommend coming at the beginning get the full information. Not a speaker? We will describe multiple ways to help pass this crucial proposition. Even if you’re not a speaker it’s good to have an elevator speech ready at any opportunity. Prop 4 will remove the ban on public financing of election campaigns, allowing any jurisdiction in California to set up its own program of public financing. Currently only charter cities can do so.
More information is available at www.yesfairelections.org or by contacting Nancy Neff.
(Prop 4 language came from SB 42 so the Prop 4 info is the same as the SB 42 info. Trent hasn’t had time to update the website. Anyone want to volunteer for that?)
Let’s move forward on the path to public financing of election campaigns — because elections should be won, not bought!
