One of the groups that has formed from the January 22 meeting, “How Can UUCPA Be Part of the Resistance?” is focused on reforming the criminal justice system: racism, police brutality, for-profit prisons. Our first action is a showing of 13th, an Oscar-nominated documentary by Ava DuVernay (director of Selma) about how the prison system in the United States reveals our nation’s history of racial inequality.

Join us at the planning meeting, Sunday, March 5, at 12:15 in Room A, or if you can’t make it but are interested in working on this issue, drop a line to criminal-justice@uucpa.org to be added to the e-mail list.
