In honor of Earth Day and youth activism, the Green Sanctuary Committee and Adult Religious Education are co-sponsoring a screening of the documentary film Youth v Gov on Wednesday, April 20 at 7 pm. This will be a hybrid event, on campus in the Fireside Room and online via Zoom.

From the Our Children’s Trust website:
In 2015, 21 youth, and organizational plaintiff Earth Guardians, filed a constitutional climate lawsuit, Juliana v. United States, against the US government. Their complaint asserts that, through the government’s affirmative actions that cause climate change, it has violated the youngest generation’s constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property, as well as failed to protect essential public trust resources.
Since then the case has been in and out of court. This film documents the bumpy path the case has taken.
Thanks to Interfaith Power and Light for making this film available to us.
