REMINDER: Justice Partner Nominations for FY26-27 Open Until March 22

This is a reminder that you can still nominate a local non-profit organization to be a Justice Partner in the coming fiscal year.  Please send suggestions for new partners and/or support for existing partners to the Action Council by emailing ActionCouncil@uucpa.org nlater than Sunday, March 22.  If you are nominating a new 501(c)3 organization, please tell us about the organization in your email (purpose, website, why you are nominating it). The Action Council will review the current and proposed organizations and present a slate of partners for the 2025-26 fiscal year at the Annual Meeting on April 27 for a congregational vote.

More information about Justice Partners is on the Justice Partner page of our website. More information about the nomination process can be found below.

Would you like to nominate an organization for Justice Partner?  Each month the church supports a social justice organization by donating one Sunday’s plate collection to that organization.  Congregants are invited to propose organizations for inclusion in the Justice Partner program.  The Action Council will review the current and proposed recipients and present a slate of partners for the 2026-27 fiscal year at the Annual Meeting on April 26 for a congregational vote.

Factors that are normally given priority in creating the slate of organizations are:

·            UUCPA congregants actively involved with the group

·            A preference for local groups

·            Who they serve and what they do

·            What is their funding base and will our donation have an impact

·            A balance of causes among different issues, such as poverty, environment, etc.

Please send suggestions for new partners and/or support for existing partners to the Action Council (email actioncouncil@uucpa.orgor talk to an Action Council member) no later than Sunday, March 22.  For nominations of new organizations, please provide information to help the Action Council with our decision, including:

·            Organization name and location

·            Organization website

·            Who they serve and what they do

·            Your relationship with the group

·            Why you are nominating this organization

Note that the organization must be classified as 501c(3) to be considered as a Justice Partner.
