On Sunday, February 22 and Sunday, March 22, Rev. Peter will lead us in a lively, two-part discussion of A Chosen Faith: An Introduction to Unitarian Universalism, by prominent UU ministers John Buehrens and the late Forrest Church. This classic book examines aspects of UU history, theology, congregational community, social action, and more. And though time won’t let us cover it all, we’ll delve into much of interest together.
Obtaining and reading the book beforehand is suggested, but not required. (The class will split the roughly 200 pages into two approximate halves.) There is at least one copy in the UUCPA library that can be checked out, plus the book is available at the Beacon Press Bookstore for $20: A Chosen Faith.
If you’d like a copy but the cost is prohibitive, a book scholarship is available. Either speak with Rev. Peter in person some Sunday, or email him at interimminister@uucpa.org. All scholarship requests are confidential.
Attending both sessions isn’t mandatory, but it is encouraged! So please mark your calendars and Choose to join this enriching two-part exploration!
- February 22: 11:45 in the Fireside Room + Zoom
- March 22: 12 noon in the Fireside Room + Zoom (Because March 22 marks the end of the annual Pledge Drive, we’ll start at 12 noon that day after some post-service celebration time).
Fourth Sunday Waffles and snacks will be available after the service. Please use a paper plate. Suggested contribution $2.
Child care will be provided.
