Beauty: such an overused term. It’s a section in every women’s magazine (men’s magazines tend to avoid the word, calling it “Grooming,” and what is that all about?) and our culture is obsessed with beautiful people, which, it claims, excludes most of us. Amy believes that noticing and rejoicing in beauty is crucial for the health of our spirits–that’s why it’s in our unison benediction. But too narrow a conception of beauty can poison rather than nourish us. Come ready to have your ideas of beauty expanded, and with them, your capacity for joy and connection.
