The annual Silicon Valley Pride Parade and Festival will take place this year on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30 in San Jose. There are several ways to participate:
- March in the parade on Sunday, August 30, starting at 10:30 at Market St and E. Julian St in San Jose. The UU Fellowship of Sunnyvale and the San Jose congregation have reserved a spot in the parade and have invited us to join them. They will have a Side with Love banner, so you can find them that way. If at least two people from UUCPA are planning to attend and would be willing to carry one of our UUCPA Side with Love banners, please contact the Action Council at ActionCouncil@uucpa.org so that we can approve this and let you know how to get the banner. Look for a sign-up sheet for the parade on the patio on Sunday, August 16 as well.
- Volunteer at the Festival’s Interfaith booth: Saturday, August 29 or Sunday, August 30. There are 2-hour volunteer slots available if you sign up here. Note that the price of admission is covered by the Silicon Valley Pride Interfaith Booth team if you volunteer. Training will be provided for all volunteers via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25. This training will be recorded in case you can’t make it. If you are interested in volunteering, sign up ASAP as slots fill quickly!
- Attend the Festival by purchasing a ticket here.
