Weaving the Web: Feeling overwhelmed?

Newly-germinated seeds, some with the seed cases still on, some forming leaves

Dear ones, we’ve probably all had our fill of these over the past three months:

  • Tuning the news out entirely, or tuning in and then feeling completely overwhelmed
  • Getting together with a friend and both venting all our “Can you believe . . . ?”s, but not feeling any better afterwards
  • Being scared for people we care about, and not knowing what to do to make them safer
  • Wondering whether anyone is doing! anything!
  • Being scared for ourselves
  • Feeling blamed or blaming others for this situation and not feeling like that gives us a way forward.

We need something better, and we’ll use our Dismantling White Supremacy space this Tuesday at 7:15 to create the conversation we need right now. We won’t do any dumping, venting, or ranting. Instead, we’ll share what we’re doing that we find helpful (if we have found anything), and listen to each other. Others will help guarantee a safe space for sharing by co-hosting the Zoom room. I will facilitate the conversation, help us center ourselves, and provide resources about what we can do to both tend to our world and sustain our spirits.

Please join me.

Blessings,

Amy
