On the recommendation of Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice, the Action Council has voted to sign an open letter from a coalition called Shoulder to Shoulder** which denounces recent anti-Muslim bigotry from public officials. There are already many signatories to the letter, both as organizations and individuals, including the Unitarian Universalist Association, Unitarian Universalists for Social Justice, Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, and UU churches of Cumberland Valley and Berkeley. The Action Council will sign the letter this month, and the Board will consider signing it on behalf of all of UUCPA at their meeting on October 26.
