Did you know that our community is led by an all-volunteer Board of Trustees that meets monthly? Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings and learn how UUCPA is governed. In an effort to make the Board more accessible to the entire community, we will feature one Board member each month in our weekly update and on our website.
This month, Kevin Ma, our Secretary, is featured.
Question: What are three interesting facts about you?
I am an observatory volunteer for Foothill College, been to more city council meetings than I’d really want to, and was on a capsized boat at Shoreline.
Q: Why did you join UUCPA?
I joined UUCPA for a place to encourage, in the words of the fourth principle, a free and responsible search for truth and meaning, as well as find a community, being a solo newcomer to the Peninsula.
Q: What made you join the Board?
It is important to maintain our institutions to keep them vibrant and up to the times, as well as provide perspectives that would perhaps be missing when important decisions are made.
Q: What’s one way you hope to see UUCPA fulfilling its mission in the coming years?
I hope to see UUCPA continue to grow, to bounce back from these trying times so that we have the bandwidth and resources to carry out our mission.
