Did you know that our community is led by an all-volunteer Board of Trustees that meets monthly? Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings and learn how UUCPA is governed. In an effort to make the Board more accessible to the entire community, we will feature one Board member each month in our weekly update and on our website.
This month, Heather Chen, our Communications portfolio holder, is featured.
Question: What are three interesting facts about you?
Here are some facts, you can decide if they are interesting or not. I have two cats, Brie and Mozzie named after cheeses. I built a 3D printer from a kit. I’ve lived in Connecticut, Washington state, and California.
Q: Why did you join UUCPA?
I joined UUCPA because it is a good fit for me and my family. For me, I wanted to resume the ritual of “going to church” and I found that UUism works with my beliefs and UUCPA provides a community for me beyond work, school, etc.
Q: What made you join the Board?
I’ve worked in various volunteer roles around the church, and I felt like it was a good time for me to join the board.
Q: What’s one way you hope to see UUCPA fulfilling its mission in the coming years?
One thing I hope we can do is to provide more ways for members and participants to care for each other.
Q: When is the next Board meeting, and how can I attend?
Our next meeting is Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00 pm. You can attend by emailing our Board President at brooke_b@uucpa.org and asking for the Zoom link.
