Elder Journey

Elder Journey meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month in Room 6 from 1:30 to 3 pm.

Second Tuesday we focus on telling our personal stories, read our favorite poems, or discuss our favorite books. Fourth Tuesday generally features a visit by one of our ministers and a topic of their choosing.

In the 2/16 service, we contemplated some questions related to what the novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichi calls “a single story.” In this Elder Journey session, we will watch her TED Talk together (volume up and subtitles on for full accessibility), and then ask: What’s a time that you were seen as only a small part of who you are, a stereotype? What’s a time that you saw someone else this way?
