This meeting features social time, a potluck, 20-minute presentation and all-peer discussion. We usually have more than 15 attendees.

Topic:  Modern Money Theory
Presenter: Veronica Palmer
When: Saturday, July 7th, 2018, 6-8:30 pm
Where:   Fireside Room of  UUCPA

The following is based on the words of Veronica.

Economics is an important subject. It’s a powerful force behind many social phenomena. For one, it often determines the election of politicians and their strivings during office. In this meeting, we will focus on Modern Money Theory (MMT), a macroeconomic view of how money really works in the modern economy.   For a preliminary explanation of MMT, here is a 6-minute video “Basics of Modern Money”.

Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything.  During the meeting, Veronica will present another video explaining MMT with further details, and give us handouts covering important points of the video.

Let’s blow up some of the myths we know, see how money system really works and how we can make it better.
