You may have heard and read that  UUCPA has a new mission statement. What about our Children and Youth Religious Education (CYRE) program at UUCPA? Does our CYRE program fit with this mission? Do we have further goals for our children’s and youth programming?  You are invited to a discussion on our CYRE goals.

  • Saturday March 30 2024, 10 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Fireside Room @ UUCPA and via Zoom
  • Coffee and snacks will be provided
  • Childcare available upon request – requests needed by Tuesday March 26 at 5 pm

The CYRE program currently has these goals –

  1. Have fun and feel they are part of a community;
  2. Gain the basic religious literacy expected in our society;
  3. Learn the skills associated with liberal religion, skills such as public speaking, group  singing, basic leadership, how to work together, in-ward reflection, and so on;
  4. Prepare them to become Unitarian Universalist adults, should they choose to do so when they are old enough to make their own reasoned decision.

Are these goals still useful? Are there new goals that would serve us better?

Who should come? Everyone at UUCPA has some relationship with our children and youth programs – from being on the CYRE Committee or teaching Sunday School, to being a parent or buying a snack for a penny during Judean Village. If you would like to be involved in this conversation about our CYRE program, we encourage you to attend.

RSVP is not required but is encouraged.  RSVP by emailing revcat@uucpa.org.
