At the April 2018 annual meeting, the congregational notification and comment period for both resolutions was changed from two days prior to taking action to four days prior to taking action.  Both resolutions were also approved to remain in place until such time as the congregation votes to rescind them.

Resolutions from April 2017 Annual Meeting, as amended in April 2018

Resolution on Use of UUCPA Banner

The UUCPA Congregation authorizes the following unless rescinded by the congregation at a future annual meeting:

A member of the congregation may request and receive permission from the Action Council to carry our church banner at public events.

To give approval:

1. More than half of the Action Council must respond,
2. Approval requires no more than one no vote among those voting,
3. A majority of the all Action Council members eligible to vote must approve the request.

The Action Council is instructed to only approve use of the UUCPA banner that they reasonably believe would be supported by 90% of congregation members.

Actions endorsed must be consistent with the UUCPA bylaws.

This resolution also requires that when this process is used, that the congregation will be notified as follows: Email to announce at least 4 days in advance of the requested banner use, notice in the next possible order of service and notice in the next possible Bulletin.
