The Fine Art of Making Love

Don’t worry, it’s PG-rated. John Wright, our Membership Engagement Coordinator, invites two characters from one of his favorite books, The Bridges of Madison County, to see what lessons they have to offer us as we grapple with the daily grind of hate, horror, history and habits.

Come and meet Francesca Johnson and Robert Kincaid. You will be exposed to passions against which you may measure those you have found, fostered or even forgotten.

Who knows, we may make a few new friends or be reintroduced to a few old ones and rewrite the past.

John will explore some of the ingredients that serve as the core of passionate love without fear, favor. Please be advised that fantasy is fair game!

Read a few pages of the book or watch the movie starring Meryl Streep.  If you have ever been in love, you may see glimpses of yourself or ghosts or others!

John Wright had a former life as Senior Pastor of Munger Avenue Baptist Church in Dallas, before traveling through other careers and theologies to us. His gift for preaching has stayed with him, though–as you know if you’ve heard his sermon from last June–so this is a service you don’t want to miss.
