Our relationships can thrive if we are guided by four phrases: Please forgive me. I forgive you. Thank you. I love you. This quartet has roots in Hawai’ian culture. Dr. Ira Byock, who worked in palliative care for many years, observed that they were what his patients and their families needed in order to say goodbye well. On reflection, he realized that although they were particularly necessary at such times, they were applicable to all of our important relationships throughout our whole lives. Today, three and a half months before her last day at UUCPA, Amy explores these four powerful phrases and what matters most between us.
A new-to-us musical group graces our service today: The StarGeezers, singing upbeat and offbeat US American music.
