And How to Bring Them into Everyday Life

Prashant and Aarav will be exploring “kindness and awareness” along these prompts:

– what could kindness and awareness, practically, do to you?

– what blocks them or comes in the way?

– what could you tell yourself or what could you do to bring them more often into everyday life?

We also hear from our April justice partner, Community Health Awareness Council, this morning, and give them our offering. Also, today is the last day of the Authentic Selves photo-text exhibit, so don’t miss out!

Worship leader: Prashant Billore. Prashant, who is a member of UUCPA, believes that wellness is not a one size fits all and the best way to learn is through sharing what has really helped each of us. He has attended about a dozen 10-day silent meditation retreats in Easing Awake and Vipassana traditions and led more than a dozen 10-day online retreats as a teacher and assisted in a few in person retreats. Back in the day, he volunteered at Tihar, a high security prison in India, for several months, teaching people how to meditate and making friends. He has led three different wellness forum series each for several  years.

He works as a senior director of engineering at a cloud security startup and recently started enjoying learning improv comedy at MadeUpTheatre, Fremont and performing on stage in plays by Naatak, a Hindi theater production house.

Worship Associate: Aarav Billore. Aarav is a graduate of UUCPA – Eco justice, Coming of age, OWL and Senior High Youth Group programs. He is currently a second year Economics and Management student at Oxford University, UK where he is also the captain of the coxes for his college rowing team. Aarav recently taped two episodes of University Challenge, a widely popular quiz show on BBC. He is interested in everything outdoors e.g. mountaineering, skiing, being with friends and exploring ways to gain peace and quiet.

Special music: Veronika Agranov-Dafoe, piano
