The winter holidays are here and many of our favorite holiday events are happening at UUCPA: Holiday Bazaar, Caroling, Aurora Singers Concert, No-Rehearsal Christmas Pageant, Winter Solstice, and Christmas Eve. Members, friends, and visitors to the church are welcome to come together in community.
Come decorate cookies and make merry during The Work Day in the kitchen. Childcare will be provided. Coordinators: Rev. Cat Boyle & CYRE.

Undie Sunday is the time we ask everyone to bring a new set of underwear and a pair of warm gloves, socks, or hat to give to unhoused people. For them, these things are difficult to obtain and are particularly helpful during the cold months of the year. Financial gifts will also be accepted. Our gifts will be distributed through LifeMoves. Coordinator: Kristi Iverson
Come sing Christmas carols in four-part harmony after the service. We’ll provide songbooks with a dozen classic Christmas carols. All ages are welcome. You can bring your own guitar or other instrument and play along, or just come and sing!
The choir is here to make our pageant a musical! Well, almost. They’ll sing several pieces to help make the story of Jesus’s birth come to life, along with whoever wishes to take a non speaking role in the play on the spot, as we rejoice in the everyday miracles of the season. Worship leaders: Revs. Amy Zucker Morgenstern & Cat Boyle ~ Special music: UUCPA Adult Choir.
The in-person session is cancelled due to an illness in Amy’s family. Please come to the Zoom session on Thursday, December 19!
An old-fashioned Elder Journey session: we gather to check in, get to know each other better, and share about a topic: If you could make your holiday season all that you hope for this year, what would that look like? Please invite all friends who are seniors or approaching their senior years. Coordinator: Rev. Amy Zucker Morgenstern.
Join us on this longest night of the year! Our simple ceremony lasts under an hour, and is followed by abundant food – (cheese, dips, pies, nuts.) and hot mulled wine and hot cider. Just come – food provided. Our solstice ceremony includes meditative music, readings, and all of us lighting candles to celebrate the return of light. Our ceremony takes place in the Main Hall, and at the very end outdoors to burn our yule log. Come join us on this longest night of the year. Children and adults are welcome.
Doors Open at 3:30 pm – come early! (Ticket purchase required) Concert is a benefit to UUCPA.
Many religious teachers agree with this sentiment from our benediction. Jesus said, “When someone strikes you on one cheek, offer him the other.” The Buddha said “Only love dispels hate.” Muhammad offered kindness to a woman who abused him daily. But we ordinary people, faced with serious threats: are we really supposed to live by those teachings? And if we do, does it mean we have to be nice to everyone? Worship leader: Rev. Amy Zucker Morgenstern
We welcome Christmas with stories, carols and special music, and candles. Come sing the familiar songs that are always powerful and experience the magic of candlelight in the darkness.
Worship Leaders: Revs. Amy Zucker Morgenstern & Cat Boyle. Special music: Thomas Shoebotham, cello.
