Join us on this longest night of the year! Our simple ceremony lasts under an hour, and is followed by abundant food – (cheese, dips, pies, nuts.) and hot mulled wine and hot cider. Just come – food provided. Our solstice ceremony includes meditative music, readings, and all of us lighting candles to celebrate the return of light. Our ceremony takes place in the Main Hall, and at the very end outdoors to burn our yule log. Come join us on this longest night of the year. Children and adults are welcome.

Meet Our Ministers

Rev. Amy Zucker Morgenstern has served with UUCPA since 2003. With a fascination for the big questions and a passion for social justice, Amy helps us to create a community where we treat our differences--of theological language, spiritual practice, chosen metaphor, life story--with respect and interest, so that they can enliven our shared journey.

Rev. Catherine (Cat) Boyle joined us in 2022. Embracing wonder, embracing curiosity and embracing life is her credo. Cat's background in theater shows up in her creativity in religious education, and infuses her worship with energy.

Justice Partner

Justice Partner - Acterra

The Justice Partner for December is Acterra.

Acterra is an organization based in Palo Alto that brings people together to create local solutions for a healthy planet. Current projects serve everyone on the Peninsula through ride & drive events, green at home programs,  local environment restoration and maintenance, green business awards programs, lecture series, and other actions. We gather on unceded, stolen land of the Tamien and Ramaytush people. We acknowledge these communities in the interest of truth and justice, awareness and gratitude. In order to dismantle the ongoing legacies of settler colonialism, we pledge to join the Tamien and Ramaytush people whenever they ask us for solidarity.
