Last year, Rev. Cat brought a group of teens to SF Pride, and when Rev. Amy met up with them afterwards they noted: there was only one faith- or spirituality-based organization in the whole parade, and it wasn’t Unitarian Universalist. They resolved to put the call out to Bay Area UU congregations and represent in 2025.
Can you imagine? One million people flank Market Street to watch the parade each June, and hundreds of thousands have no idea that there is a religious community in the Bay Area that has been celebrating them, welcoming them, ordaining them as clergy, and fighting for their freedoms for over 50 years. This is a great chance to show them. It’s also a really fun morning, and a great way to connect with other UUs from all over the Bay Area.
The parade begins at 10:30 on Sunday, June 29, and is accessible to all ages and abilities. To join the contingent, please fill out this form, the sooner the better. Thank you!
