Announcing Expansion of UUCPA Safe Parking Program

The City of Palo Alto recently updated its policy on the Safe Parking Program, allowing expansion of safe parking lots from four vehicles to six, then a year later to eight.  Both the Action Council and the Board have approved expansion of the UUCPA Safe Parking Program from four to six vehicles – effective as soon as we have signage in place – then to eight vehicles in mid-2025.  Our current program has hosted two to four vehicles each month for the past 2.5 years, with no community complaints.   We are hoping more people will be able to take advantage of this service as we expand the number of available spaces.  For more background on this program, please see the presentation recently made to the Board by Chris Kan, who initiated the UUCPA program.  You will find it here.

If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please contact the Action Council at ActionCouncil@uucpa.org.

** Note that the Vision Task Force has indicated that the planned church construction will not impinge on the safe parking arrangements, which are only overnight parking.
