IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED!
On Wednesday night, the Finance Committee presented a 2025–26 budget to the Board that has a deficit of $46,500, which is more than 6% of our expected 2025–26 expenses. The Board believes this deficit is due to increasing costs, declining membership, and declining pledges.
Obviously, this is unworkable.
During the Board’s discussion of ways to decrease expenses and increase pledge income, there was a breakthrough that requires YOUR IMMEDIATE PARTICIPATION!
Kay and Byron Brown have generously offered to raise their pledge by $10,000—BUT only if UUCPA raises at least a matching $10,000 in new or increased pledges by 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the end of the Annual Meeting. NOTE: This match is available only if we can achieve the full $10,000 in new or increased pledges by 2 p.m. on Sunday.
This incredible offer will be combined with additional expense cuts of $16,500 to achieve a deficit of $10,000. These budget details will be presented at Sunday’s Annual Meeting. The Finance Committee and the Board will continue to look for ways to close this deficit.
What You Can Do Now
Stop what you’re doing and send an email to pledge@uucpa.org with your new or increased pledge amount. Or, you can fill out your pledge card during the Annual Meeting on Sunday, April 27, 12 noon – 2 p.m. And feel free to bring your checkbook to the meeting, too.
Thank you, Kay and Byron, for this inspirational gift! I look forward to seeing everyone at 12 noon at Sunday’s Annual Meeting.
In faith,
Mayo Tsuzuki, Board President
