Learning about our local Community Land Trust at Dismantling White Supremacy, Feb 13
February 10th, 2024 by webadminOn Tuesday, February 13, 2024, two leaders of the South Bay Community Land Trust (CLT) will make a presentation to UUCPA’s Dismantling White Supremacy group. South Bay CLT, like us, recognizes the historically racist exclusion of BIPOC and other marginalized communities from opportunities of housing and development, and actively works to dismantle these structures by centering the voices and lived experiences of those most impacted by the housing crisis: for example, by the makeup of their board. Community Land Trusts are a powerful partner in reversing the effects of decades of housing discrimination, since they buffer residents from the volatility of economic crises, land speculation and gentrification through permanent affordable housing.
Sadly, Zoombombing is a reality for anti-racism groups. If you would like to attend this session and are not subscribed to the Dismantling White Supremacy email list, please email dismantlingwhitesupremacy+subscribe@uucpa.org. Zoom information for the session will be sent to this list early next week. We welcome new attendees at any time!
Thanks,
Amy
