From the Associate Minister of Religious Education

We’re gearing up for the start of online and in-person programs for children and youth. Please read this newsletter for details.

As the pandemic drags on, I’m seeing some children and teens who aren’t bothered at all. But I’m seeing other children and teens who are suffering adverse effects. We already know there’s an increased incidence of anxiety and depression in children and teens. And I’ve seen some kids regress in both cognitive learning and social-emotional learning.

One thing I know is that our in-person and online programs can be a real boost to kids. We offer interesting content. In addition, our programs boost social and emotional learning. We word it a little differently in our learning goals. We say we’re going to “have fun and build community.” But it’s the same thing.

I look forward to seeing your kids either online or in person!
