Our Whole Lives (OWL): Sexuality Ed for grades 7–9 • Parent Orientation Sept 11

This year, UUCPA will offer Our Whole Lives (OWL): Sexuality Education for grades 7 – 9.  The program will be offered on Sunday evenings from 3:30-5:00 from September 18 2022 to May 25 2023  excluding holiday weekends and Spring Break.

This course is part of a lifespan sexuality education program developed for use by Unitarian Universalists and others, which has received acclaim from both parents and participants alike.  The OWL program is a values-based sexuality education program that embodies UU values, including the dignity of the individual, the importance of personal responsibility, and the essential interdependence of all people.  Other OWL curriculum has been developed for youth in grades K-1, grades 4-6, grades 10-12, and adults.  The UUCPA OWL Committee is working to create a multi-year schedule that offers OWL courses for varying age groups, in order to provide the most opportunity for our congregation’s youth.

OWL 7-9 is still open for registration. If you know a friend who is interested in having their child participate in this programming, please direct them to the registration form

Parents who decide to enroll their youth in the program must attend the Parent Orientation Meeting on September 11th from 3:30-5:00 pm with Rev. Cat Boyle. We need at least one parent to attend. We will explain the program goals and collect signed parental consent forms.  This program is offered to families in the UUCPA congregation and members of the community at large who are in agreement with the principles of the OWL program values.
