The novelist Barbara Kingsolver says, “Memory is a complicated thing, a relative to truth, but not its twin.” On this weekend nominally dedicated to remembrance, we reflect: what do we choose to remember? What do we choose to forget? And how can we use memorial moments to help us remember what we want to honor, and align our lives more closely with the truths we cherish?
