Am I the Keeper of My Beloveds?

In Genesis, one man slew his brother, and when asked where that brother was, asked of his god, “I know not. Am I my brother’s keeper?”

This question has been taken as many ways as there are storytellers under the sun: keeper of health? keeper of wealth? keeper of morality? Under it all, the subtext: for whom am I to sacrifice my own comforts and security and peace and hard-won happiness? How bound up must I be, with whom, for how long? Community is complicated, more so when we don’t have a single god calling us into connection. How shall we, Unitarian Universalists, be together?

We welcome Rev. Leela Sinha back to UUCPA and welcome everyone to a full day of activities, with Forum, tours of our native-plant gardens, the Budget Town Hall Meeting at 11:45, numerous Religious Education offerings, and more in addition to the service.
