“Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don’t be afraid,” says Frederick Buechner. Here we are, plunked down in a life that encompasses devastating tragedies and transcendent joys. What shall we do?

In addition to giving the sermon, Amy sings music by three artists who have ventured some responses–Bob Dylan, Emily Saliers, and Isabelle Geffroy (Zaz). Jane reflects on the place of music in her and our lives. All of us will be invited to go forth sharing with each other: what do you do when the desire to save the world and the desire to savor it wrestle inside?

Worship leader: Rev. Amy Zucker Morgenstern

Worship Associate: Jane Chronis

Special music: Amy Morgenstern
