Transformation. We adapt to the changing world.
We covenant to collectively transform and grow spiritually and ethically. Openness to change is fundamental to our Unitarian and Universalist heritages, never complete and never perfect.
—Article II (Purposes and Covenant), Unitarian Universalist Association Bylaws
As we explore the newly-adopted shared values of Unitarian Universalism, today brings us to transformation. The world doesn’t stay the same–so neither can we. Furthermore, change makes life interesting; most of us enjoy learning and growing. And yet change can be stressful, and so we may want to find a plateau where we are satisfied with ourselves, and stay there. Let’s aspire to a kind of transformation that is sustainable: that is rooted not in self-criticism but in love for ourselves and others.
Appropriately, today’s service is followed by the Activity Fair at which you can find a group or activity that will help you to grow spiritually and ethically, being transformed and helping others in their journey of transformation.
Worship leader: Rev. Amy Zucker Morgenstern
