We watch reports of the attack on Israeli civilians on October 7, and the devastation in Gaza since then, with grief and often a sense of impotence. Long before last fall, the issue of Israel and Palestine has been particularly hard for Unitarian Universalists even to talk about, and yet we are in some ways particularly well-suited to help move the conflict toward a just peace. It begins with learning how to talk about hard things. Let’s do that today and then see what the next movements toward peace might be.
