UUCPA helping to present pre-inauguration vigil

Feeling down as another Inauguration Day approaches? Feeling alienated from those neighbors who seem to have chosen fear and hatred over love? Come join a community of justice-seekers and peacemakers from all traditions on Sunday evening, January 19th. Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice has planned a vigil in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr., who in his last book, wrote, “I have decided to love because hate is too great a burden to bear.”

UUCPA was one of the founding congregations of Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice, and this event has friendly UU fingerprints all over it. Kristi Iverson of the Action Council helped to plan the vigil. Bruce Olstad and Veronika Agranov-Dafoe are preparing the UUCPA Choir for its part, which will be to sing “Bridge Over Troubled Water” for those gathered. Amy will be one of the four speakers. And we hope many more of our congregation will be in attendance.

All the details are here. If you, too, have decided to love (or are trying to), don’t feel alone–come join the gathering!

If you would like to help with set-up, clean-up or refreshments for this event, please volunteer here.
