Tuesday, Nov 14: Next Session of Dismantling White Supremacy Group

The next session of the Dismantling White Supremacy group will take place this coming Tuesday, November 14, 7:15-8:45 on Zoom. Since Thanksgiving is fast approaching, in this session we will explore the roots of the Doctrine of Discovery** and how it continues to affect indigenous people up to today. We will also talk about what really happened at the “original Thanksgiving dinner” and what we can do to recognize the true history when we gather this year with our families and friends.

** The Doctrine of Discovery began with a papal bull issued by Pope Alexander VI in 1493 and was used by Europeans to justify their exploitation of indigenous peoples.

If you would like to attend this session and are not subscribed to the email list, please email dismantlingwhitesupremacy+subscribe@uucpa.org. Zoom information for the session will be sent to this list prior to November 14. We welcome new attendees at any time!
