Join us for an AAPI & Allies lunch where we can bond & chat about our experiences as UU AAPI. We’ll have a guided discussion and an opportunity to dive more deeply into what it means to be AAPI & UU.

Announcing the September Session of Dismantling White Supremacy

•

The Dismantling White Supremacy group will be meeting on Tuesday, September 26 at 7:15 pm on Zoom. This month we will be learning about the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA), an organization that was created in 2019 by the California Legislature. BAHFA’s mandate is to create regional solutions that meet the Bay Area’s affordable housing needs by producing and preserving more affordable housing and protecting our most vulnerable residents. We will also learn about an affordable housing bond measure that BAHFA is proposing for our ballot in 2024. Join us as we learn more about how things work today and how we can help improve the housing situation in the Bay Area!

SciFi/Fantasy Discussion Group Next Meeting — Sept 20 — “Star Trek” (2009 film)

Our next meeting is September 20, 7-8:30, on Zoom. We will discuss the movie “Star Trek”, the 2009 film with Chris Pine as Kirk. All are welcome to join. Just watch the movie ahead of time.

The Zoom number has CHANGED due to Zoombombing in the spring. Don’t use an old link. This link on the UUCPA website (SciFi_9_20) has all the current Zoom information.

At the end of the meeting, we will choose a book for our October meeting and another movie for November. Then we’ll be off and running with our new every-month-except-December-and-Summer schedule.

Second Sunday Lunch Sept 10 – Soup, Sandwiches and Salad

Join us for Second Sunday Lunch, a home-cooked, nutritious, delicious food for a very reasonable donation. We go through the buffet line in the Fireside Room and eat in the Main Hall or outdoors, weather permitting. If you’re new or visiting, be our guest. We want you to stay for lunch, and we welcome new volunteers! Help is needed for Sunday food preparation and for cleanup after lunch. Some volunteers help most second Sundays; others help occasionally. Contact Edie if you would like to join us in the kitchen.
