The legendary singer/songwriter paid a surprise visit to UUCPA this week, having heard about our Stewardship drive for our Annual Fund and 75th Anniversary Capital Campaign. He was very enthusiastic about our plan to upgrade our kitchen and choir room, provide all-gender and family restrooms, and make our community’s home carbon-neutral. We told him about all the marvelous programs supported by our annual fund also–religious education for all ages, Sunday services, dozens of small groups, social and environmental justice–and he agreed they all sound great, but of course, what grabbed his interest most was our world-class music. Paul declined to be videoed (he said he was having a bad hair day), but to support what he called “the best music west of Art Garfunkel” and everything else we do, he allowed us to record him singing one of his classics. Check it out!
