California Clean Money Campaign, whose mission is to reduce the undue influence of money in politics, has been supported by UUCPA for many years, including as a Fair Elections Task Force and as a Justice Partner. California Clean Money Campaign’s powerful bill, AB 1416, the Ballot DISCLOSE Act, is on the governor’s desk and we do not know if he will sign it. AB 1416 will let voters know who supports and who opposes ballot measures — on the ballot itself. With this information in front of them, voters will be better able to vote in their own best interests,
despite millions of dollars spent to influence their votes.
