Second Sunday Lunch May 12 – Salads, Asparagus and Strawberries

Hi Everyone – Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you can join us for lunch.
Here is our menu:
– Tuna Salad,
– Potato Salad,
– Roasted Asparagus,
– Hummus,
– Rolls,
– Whole Wheat Pita,
– Three Bean Salad

Salad Bar including
-Romaine,
-Spring Mix,
-Tomatoes,
-Olives,
-Goat Cheese,
-Red Onion,

Dessert is ice cream and strawberries.

And as always
Light wheat bread, peanut butter, and jelly.

Tree Dedication in Honor of Bill Hilton, May 12

Please join with the Green Sanctuary Committee as we dedicate one of the new native Valley Oaks on the UUCPA campus in honor of Bill Hilton, a leader in our efforts to combat climate change on campus and in the wider community. The dedication will be at noon on May 12, just as we are finishing up 2nd Sunday lunch and right before the Green Sanctuary Committee meeting. We will assemble in the small parking lot behind the kitchen.

Save the Date – Summer Solstice BBQ and Celebration Thurs June 20, 2024

Thursday June 20 is the longest day of the year – we hope you can join us for a Summer Solstice Celebration.

Come at 6 for a grilled dinner (hot dogs, veggie burgers…) with potluck sides and dessert, followed by an outdoor summer solstice ceremony. Children and adults are welcome.

Newcomer Lunch, July 14

If you are new or recently returned to UUCPA, please be our guest for a Newcomer Lunch on July 14, 2024, after the service in a room TBA.

This is a casual way to get to know our community and learn about UUCPA activities that might interest you. We’ll treat you to pizza and salad with both vegan and gluten-free options.

SciFi/Fantasy Group Meeting — May 15 — “Upgrade”,  by Blake Crouch

Mark your calendars for the return of the all-church community dance: May 18, 2:30 pm

Saturday, May 18, 2:30 – 4:30PM in the UUCPA Main Hall! This one is a collaboration between UUCPA, and the Bay Area Country Dance Society (BACDS), who feature such dances in their week long family summer camp: https://bacds.org/familyweek/ . BACDS is providing the caller, musicians, and break entertainment, and UUCPA is providing the hall and sound support.

So what kind of dances might you expect at the community dance? Easy-to-learn fun dances designed to get all ages up and dancing! Dances that have been done in the past include:
