New Date for Next Session of Dismantling White Supremacy Group, Nov 14
October 21st, 2023 by webadminThe next session of the Dismantling White Supremacy group has been moved from Tuesday, October 24 to Tuesday, November 14, 7:15-8:45 on Zoom. Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, in this session we will explore the roots of the Doctrine of Discovery** and how it continues to affect indigenous people up to today. We will also talk about what really happened at the “original Thanksgiving dinner” and what we can do to recognize the true history when we gather this year with our families and friends.
** The Doctrine of Discovery is the papally-blessed rationale that Europeans used to justify their exploitation of indigenous peoples.
If you would like to attend this session and are not subscribed to the email list, please email dismantlingwhitesupremacy+subscribe@uucpa.org. Zoom information for the session will be sent to this list prior to November 14. We welcome new attendees at any time!
