In uncertain times, this community is more important than ever. UUCPA is a financially self-supporting congregation – which means we exist because of you. Every pledge, every gift, keeps the lights on, the music playing, and the doors open to all who seek belonging.

As our Interim Minister, Rev. Peter Farriday, reminds us: “The beat of this essential Home for Your Heart stays strong because you give big-heartedly.” Thank you for giving all you can within your means.

Our 2026-2027 pledge drive is March 8-22, 2026. Pledges can be made in one of three ways: mail in the pledge card you received via US mail; use the online form (bit.ly/uucpa-pledge-2026); or email pledge@uucpa.org with your name, your pledge amount for the year, and whether you would like to sign up for auto-renewal.

Make Your Pledge Today

Your pledge is a commitment of faith — in this community, in our shared values, and in the future we are building together. Pledges of any amount are welcome and meaningful.

What Your Gift Makes Possible

Inspiring Worship & Reflection Thoughtful sermons from our ministers and guest speakers, live music from our talented pianist and choir, and Religious Education programs for all ages — spaces that explore and discuss rather than indoctrinate.

Community Connection From 2nd Sunday Lunches and Circle Suppers to Game Nights, Chalice Circles, Spiritual Parenting groups, Empty Nest Parenting gatherings, Discussion Forums, and our annual Auction and Picnic – UUCPA gives you space to reflect, connect, and belong.

Social Justice in Action Your pledge funds our Action Council and Green Sanctuary teams, our Justice Partners, and our shelter support for local unhoused people. We act on our values — together.

Caring for One Another Our Caring Network provides short-term support to members navigating life’s tough moments and transitions. No one walks through difficulty alone here.

A Beautiful, Renewed Campus Thanks to our Campus Vision Task Force, we are in the first phase of exciting renovations. Dedicated volunteers from our Buildings & Grounds team keep our campus both functional and beautiful.

Voices from Our Community

“We were looking for a community that shared our values. We especially appreciate that all are welcome here and the emphasis on social and racial justice.” – David & Kathy Puryear, new members

“Our daughter introduced us to UU. The community at UUCPA — the Start Point, Chalice Circle, and Circle Suppers — really helped us feel connected. I love that this community is here for others, just like it’s been here for us.” – Autri Dutta

“In 2019 my family moved to California and sought a ‘village’ to help raise our child with our values. I support UUCPA because financial strength is the foundation that allows this positive force to thrive. Investing in our shared work for social justice leaves me personally fulfilled.” – Haiying Wang

FAQ

The graphs below show our projected income and expenses for the coming fiscal year (May 2026 – April 2027).  To run UUCPA with all its programs, staff, and infrastructure costs approximately $2,040 per day.

As you can see from the graphs, most of our projected income—an expected 78%—will come from our pledge donations. Staff compensation is 78% of our budget, which is typical of most congregations. We limit increases to inflation except in a few cases, but overall, the raise in expenses will be about 2% ($15k) over the present year.

Our goal is to balance the budget so UUCPA meets its current expenses without needing to spend  reserves.  To do this without budget cuts, we need an overall increase in total pledging of 8.5%, including both new pledges and increases in current pledges. This will allow us to continue the many enriching UUCPA programs that we all value.

Last year we had 142 pledges, with an average pledge of $3,755 sustaining UUCPA.

For more detailed information, please attend the “How UUCPA Works” Town Hall gathering on April 12.
